Austenitic Steel

Austenitic Steel. More of all fasteners (97%) made from stainless steel are produced from this steel composition group.

Why this choice?

This group of steels is characterised by impressive corrosion resistance and excellent mechanical properties.

The classification of austenitic steel.

This type of steel are divided into 5 main groups whose chemical compositions are as follows:

Some other information.

In A2 group if the chromium contenti s below 17%, the minimum nickel content should be 12%. Indeed, in A2 and A4 groups nitrogen may be present to maximum of 0,22%. The last but not the least, the carbon content may be higher where required in order to obtain the specified mechanical properties at larger diameters, but shall not exceed 0,12% for austenitic steels (at the discretion of the manufacturer).
