The Mechanical Joints. Stainless steel can be fixeded (or combined) with other materials through traditional techniques. Some examples are welding, brazing, bonding and mechanical joining. The latter will be the topic of this post.

Choosing the most appropriate method to use depends on many factors. Which ones?

The mechanical joints. Which ones to use?
In applications where it is preferable to opt for a mechanical joining is possible using different fasteners. These are made with different types of stainless steels.
What are they?
- prisoners
- screws
- bolts
- washers
- rivets
- pins
When to use fasteners?
When the joint is subject to moisture it is recommended that the type of fastener material having at least an equivalent quality stainless steel that should be merged. The different materials (if used) should be separated from stainless steel with non-metallic washers and bushes.
Studs, that are welded on the back of the sheet, are often used for attaching stainless steel panels in a substructure. This type of joint can be used when the plate has a minimum thickness of 1 mm. Stud welding requires no finishing and it isn’t visible on the outside. However, when the thickness of materials is particularly low, you need to make sure that the joints are headed. As excessive tightening can cause deformations on face in sight.
