Here is the second part of our blog post about stainless steel hinges. In this particular case, about hinges for welding for casings and doors and windows frames.

Welding hinges for casings and doors and windows.

The casings is the frame on which are fixed:

opening elements of doors or windows frames, etc.. (known as shutters)
not opening glass or doors and windows panels

The casings not to be confused with counter frames. The latter are made with passivated steel trestle (or raw wood) and they are anchored to the wall by the cement, on which the fixtures are screwed. Sometimes the casings are screwed directly to the wall by the wedges. In particular, the frames of the iron and steel casings can be anchored directly to the wall without a counterframe.

Are you curious about doors and windows?

Usually, with the term “casing” is wrongly defined as the entire door and window frame. However, the latter is the architectural element realized for the closure of masonry openings. The doors and windows frames, connects:

the interior and exterior of a building
two interior rooms of the same building

The frame include windows, doors, fixed glazing etc..

When to use hinges for Welding?

Besides the hinges, discussed in the previous post, Inoxmare has also in its range the AISI 304/A2 stainless steel hinges for welding.

Hinges for welding with 2 or 3 wing, removable washer and pin:
- it is used when the space doesn’t allow to raise (or move) the frame to remove it from its seat
- the brass washer is used as a shim and it is required in order to avoid the sliding of the two wings. (nb. In fact, the brass has a lower friction coefficient than stainless steel)
