We are now at the last blog post about stainless steel wire rope clips. In today’s post, we focus our attention on duplex and simplex wire rope clips and on nicopress copper sleeve.
Wire rope clips: simplex or duplex?
Wire rope clips are different dependent on usage.
- Simplex wire rope clip:
- on AISI 316 or AISI 304 stainless steel
- suitable for loop on stainless steel ropes or cables
- mainly used in architecture, in furniture, in boating and, generally, on industry
- don’t use it for heavy loads or on textile ropes.
- Duplex wire rope clip:
- for antenna cables and tension systems clamping
- a long-term guarantee durability. In fact, the compression is distributed over a bigger surface. Thus avoiding damage to the cable that is inserted between the two plates

Nicopress copper sleeve and other accessories
There are any other types of wire rope clips than the stainless steel ones. For example, the copper ones. Nicopress copper sleeve are extremely useful for the fixing of the ends of the metal cables. In fact, this are fundamental to the splice¹. Cable is folded in on itself and its terminal part is closed in the copper sleeve. The latter is squashed with the pliers to preventing the sliding. The use of multi-compression hand swager with cutter is fundamental for the splice. They must be suitable for cables up to 5 mm.
¹The splice is a method for joining the free ends of two cables or two parts of the same. (creating a loop)
