The choice of the item depends on its use. As in the case of wood screws, you have to make a prehole.
The threading (which is unified according to the UNI699 table) is realized on a tapered stem with a relatively small thread compared to the pitch, allowing easy screwing at the top of the shank. The helix media is less inclined than the bottom. Also, this feature creates a strong resistance to unscrewing.
