The development of standards is evolving constantly. Their content in fact is constantly changing. And the more important thing is that these changes run with the transition from standard DIN to ISO. As in this case (small slotted and cross recessed screws)
Introduction of the ISO standard. What changes?
With the introduction of the ISO standards the diameter and height of the head of some screws are modified. These changes in some cases don’t have any effect in practice. But in the case when the space for the installation of the screw is considered extremely reduced the observance of these changes is required.
