Stainless steel wire rope is mechanical component intended for power and movement transmission. The type of material that is used, gives the rope the performance required for assigned use.
Nautical stainless steel wire rope: how to use its?
In nautical sector (in old boats only) the stainless steel is used to:
- Halyards (that is natural, synthetic or metal fiber ropes) are used to hoist the sail.
- Mainstay that is a metal rope which supports the mast of a boat or a ship from the front (prow).
- Lifeline is a cable under tension between the stanchion or pulpit of the boat. To prevent accidental falls outboard of passengers.
NB: in all cases the ropes are never made entirely in metal cable.
